Meghan Trainor has welcomed her second child as she announces the birth of her baby boy. The singer announced that she had delivered a second baby boy on Saturday.
She took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the brilliant news with her husband Daryl Sabara. She also announced her son’s arrival came on a very special date for the couple.
“On July 1st (the 7-year anniversary of our first date) we welcomed Barry Bruce Meghan Trainor into the world 🐻💙,” Trainor captioned the post.
“He was a big boy at 8lbs 7oz…and sideways (transverse), but we had an amazing, successful c-section, and I finally got my skin-to-skin time! Thank you to all of the incredible doctors and nurses who took such great care of us ❤️” she added alongside a black-and-white photo of Barry pressed against her chest following the birth.
She also added “Thank you to all of the incredible doctors and nurses who took such great care of us”
The singer included another snap of Sabara holding the newborn in the delivery room, along with other touching photos of the wide-eyed child.
Fans were quick to congratulate the pair in the comments section including one from actress Chrissy Metz who wrote, “Awww, congratulations!!!!! ✨❤️🎉.” Ashley Benson also wrote: “Congrats angel.”
Meghan Trainor revealed her pregnancy news on the show “Today” in January after teasing on social media that she had kept “a secret” hidden for months.
“I’m pregnant! We did it!” she gushed on the NBC morning show. “It finally happened, and we’re so excited.” she wrote.
The new arrival joins the couple’s son Riley who is two years old, Sabara told ‘PEOPLE’ is excited to be a big brother.
He’s “so ready to have a permanent friend,” and continued.
“He definitely loves pointing to Meghan’s stomach and saying ‘baby’ and kissing her belly. So it’s definitely a lot cuter than we ever thought,”
He also said “The amount of things that she does pregnant, and just in general, I mean she’s a superwoman. I just am in awe of her.”
While speaking with ‘PEOPLE’ in April, Meghan Trainor said she and Sabara can’t wait for Riley to have a sibling.
“I look at my husband and go, ‘We are so lucky,'” said Trainor. “I’m the best version of me. Each kid’s going to bring a new version of me that I think is going to be badass — so I need four, at least!” she added.
